After spending years with his Uncle in Mexico, mastering family recipes, Ryan moved to Ucluelet, BC and opened Papi’s Cantina. We worked closely with Ryan to bring his ideas and vision to life. Authentic Mexican cuisine is a term loosely thrown around these days so we wanted to instill this idea by mix-matching a handful of Latin American inspired typefaces that would feel at home being painted all over the streets of Mexico. We developed a hand-sketched illustration system highlighting everything from cactus’ to tacos with a donkey sitting at the forefront of the brand, a classic Mexican icon.
